{"id":3587,"date":"2016-03-23T10:58:41","date_gmt":"2016-03-23T10:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yakinthia.gr\/en\/project\/"},"modified":"2016-05-24T18:20:22","modified_gmt":"2016-05-24T16:20:22","slug":"project","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.yakinthia.gr\/en\/project\/","title":{"rendered":"The project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Yakinthia <\/strong>is an artistic cultural festival that takes place every year in July on Crete\u00a0in the village of Anogeia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Events are taking place in the area that has been specially configured for this purpose in a place of Psiloritis mountain, just after Anogeia village, at an altitude of 1260 m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There has been built a chapel\u00a0dedicated to St. Hyacinth (Agios Yakinthos), which has the shape of a Cretan &#8220;<strong>mitato<\/strong>&#8220;, a circular building made of flat stones with a dome<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inside the chapel there is a full body figure of St. Hyacinth. Next to the chapel, it has been built a stone theater, where concerts are taking place under the shadow of trees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The topic of the first Yakinthia festival was the &#8220;Magnus Eroticus&#8221; (Megalos Erotikos) and \u00a0was dedicated to the remembrance of Manos Hatzidakis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since then, every year Yakinthia has \u00a0a different topic and generally join together <strong>Cretan music<\/strong> and Cretan folk tradition with music and traditions from other places of <strong>Greece<\/strong> and the <strong>Mediterranean<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is an important institution of cultural creation in our country and a benchmark for Mediterranean cultural exchanges, while it participates in the network of the <strong>most famous Mediterranean festivals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yakinthia Festival is &#8220;challenging&#8221; the spirit and the body with a different topic every time and attendees live a unique\u00a0mental and physical experience in the natural environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yakinthia is an artistic cultural festival that takes place every year in July on Crete\u00a0in the village of Anogeia.
